Important Announcement: SELF SELF-ASSESSMENT-REPORT-2023-24

On behalf of the teaching and non-teaching staff of Govt. Degree College, Rey, I take this opportunity to welcome the students, especially the newcomers and revered parents to this budding institution. Education is a process that broadens our horizon and deepens our insight. It dissolves the darkness of ignorance and diffuses the light of knowledge. Its purpose is to teach our children to think and develop a capacity to reason out facts. Students should keep in mind the importance of planning and prioritizing their time and its effective use.

We have entered in an era where National Education Policy-2020 is going to transform our education system into a modern, progressive and equitable one. The entire education system will need to have an adaptive approach to ensure that our children succeed and find their place in fast moving world of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization. The NEP aims to make it easier to set up new quality of higher education institutions which will be at par with global standards.

India has population dividend as the median age of the population is 29 years. The youth of the country can play an important role to cope with the uncertainties of covid -19 and contribute in the formation of Atama Nirbhar Bharat.

Govt. Degree College Rey has been playing an important role in providing access to education to rural youth of the area. From the session 2021-22, we have made an effort to provide offline as well as online admission facility to the students. It will be our endeavour to provide quality education to rural students at their door steps.

My best wishes to all !

Mrs. Neeru Thakur
Principal

CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM (CBCS) The CBCS provides an opportunity for the students to choose courses from the prescribed courses comprising core, elective/minor or skill-based courses. The courses can be evaluated following the grading system, which is considered to be better than the conventional marks system. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce uniform grading system in the entire higher education in India. This will benefit the students to move across institutions within India to begin with and across countries. The uniform grading system will also enable potential employers in assessing the performance of the candidates. In order to bring uniformity in evaluation system and computation of the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) based on student’s performance in examinations, the UGC has formulated the guidelines to be followed.
